What is The Frontier?

The Frontier lets you listen less and know more: a daily newspaper built from your favorite podcasts. Each morning it reads everything new from its fifty-plus hand-picked shows, across AI and technology, Bitcoin, markets, politics, and culture. When several shows tell the same story, that story makes the paper. The edition carries the seven biggest, balanced across those beats. Speed is someone else’s job.

Each edition is a calm five-to-ten-minute read. Once or twice a week keeps you in the picture: no backlog, nothing important missed. There is no feed to scroll and no rage bait. Read it and leave; the news keeps until you’re back.

Readers, not advertisers, keep it going. When an edition earns it, they send a few dollars back; most goes to the podcasters, a small share to The Frontier. One person builds it, in the open. Tell us what you’d want from a quieter way to keep up.

How is the edition made?

  1. 1
    Collect
the new episodes from the last 24 hours
  2. 2
    Transcribe
precise transcriptions, faithful to what was said
  3. 3
    Cluster
find the storylines several shows share
  4. 4
    Write
newspaper craft, written for people, not feeds
  5. 5
    Publish
on the web, RSS, and the Digest on Nostr
A story makes the paper when several shows tell it.

Value for Value

No paywalls, no ads, no begging. Just saying thank you, the way you do when someone holds the door, hands you an ice-cold beer, or offers advice you genuinely appreciate. That’s Value for Value, the Podcasting 2.0 model: if a show makes your day better, let the people behind it know by sending them some value back. Shows funded by their listeners answer to their listeners; that circle keeps independent podcasting healthy.

TimeRead it, and pass an edition to someone who’d want it.
TalentSend a correction, an idea to make it better, or a show worth adding.
TreasureSend the podcasters a $1, a $5, a $10, or a $20.

Each edition has a contribution button. Pick an amount; Lightning splits it fairly among the podcasters cited on that page, and a small share keeps The Frontier going. The thinking behind it is at value4value.info.

Any Lightning wallet that speaks Nostr Wallet Connect plugs in. Alby Hub, Coinos, and Primal are simple places to start; the Alby browser extension works too.

How we keep it honest

  • Every story is written from the episodes’ own transcripts, not from secondhand coverage.
  • People are named as the episodes name them, and unclear attribution is left out rather than guessed.
  • Quotes run word-for-word from the transcript; anything we can’t quote exactly is paraphrased, never dressed up as a quote.

AI does the reading and the drafting, and it won’t always get things right. The source episodes stay one click away on every story, so you can check the work yourself.
