Adam Curry heard an echo in Dave Jones’s audio return while the live stream sounded normal; Dave suspected a recent RØDECaster firmware update but could not reproduce the problem in the recording.

Dave Jones said a PHP vulnerability forced him to interrupt his day job and secure roughly nine public-facing PHP sites, alongside his work maintaining Podcast Index, Godcaster, and other systems.

Dave Jones blamed an early public release of exploit details for escalating the PHP incident. Responsible disclosure should give maintainers and Linux distributions time to prepare and coordinate patches before the vulnerability becomes public.
